Copper Top is a 1984 SWB Jeep
J10, with mostly stock drivetrain
(AMC 360/727/NP208 with Dana
44 & AMC 20). A BJ's 6" lift
provides room for 35" Buckshot
Mudders on Chrome Modulars.
The interior has new carpet,
door panels and headliner.
To keep the vintage truck feel, the bench seat was retained and resprung since
the seat cover was still good. Originally it was a non-A/C truck so a working A/C
system from a '79 Cherokee was swapped in and recharged.
The exterior is painted in
Silkens Liquid Copper and
has a BJ's Dozer 2 rear
bumper and Sterling
Equipment nerf bars. Today
Copper Top is still used as a
pickup when needed,
fishing, towing mulch or
running to get lumber.
Jared states "my craze of Full Sized Jeeps all started out as a child, spending time
playing with a Majorette Jeep Cherokee Chief diecast car. I was lucky to also be able look
at the full size version while playing, it was parked outside of my parent's house a '78
Chief, although dead having lost its life due to use and rust. Fast forward 10 years,
learners permit in hand, I searched online web forums and classifieds for my first set of
wheels, it could be any color as long as it was a J-Truck. It ended up being copper and
later earn the name Copper Top."
