In 2006 I found my 1967 Jeep Gladiator “Special Camper Edition” on a small farm in Carrolton, Georgia, about 60 miles west of downtown Atlanta.

It was not running and was mechanically in rough shape, but the body had minimal rust for a jeep that age and was relatively damage free.
I bought it and began the painful process of restoring a forty year old truck. I soon learned that when Jeep put out “A special edition” vehicle that meant they put rare hard to find components on the truck. Examples are a Dana 53 rear end, 12x2 brake drums and a T-85 transmission.
Thank goodness for the internet and other resources like JeepTruck.com to help with getting scarce parts. The Jeep is very mechanically sound short of some leaks here and there.
The rear window is the small oval and you don’t see that set up very often.
I have not cosmetically restored the Jeep, but I do drive it a couple days a week and during hunting season I take it out of town to my camp which is several hundred miles round trip.

Jeeps have always been part of my family and my first vehicle was a 1973 Jeep Truck that I drove into the ground. I have always had some form of Jeep, but I am particularly fond of my old pick up.
Editors Note: Thanks Mike for sharing your story and we're glad you like our website JeepTruck.com. We are also particulary fond of the small rear cab window in the Gladiator Trucks. Your right you don't see many of them can't help but wonder if its a throw back to it's predecessor the Willys Jeep pickup. We also like the original patina'd paint, the original Gladiator decal on the tailgate and the fact that you have kept it in original condition in this age of bolt on upgrades. Who wouldn't enjoy driving this great classic Jeep Truck.....

Have a Story about your Jeep Truck to share, we are always looking for new articles. Send us yours and you will receive a free Jeep tshirt or cap.....
Mike claims "I enjoy the Website and love to see all the Old Jeeps still out in the world."
