1968 Kaiser Jeep M715
1 1/4 ton truck, bought about 6 years ago.
- Replaced stock engine/trans with a 6.2L NA diesel and NV4500 5 speed transmission and coverted to 12 volt this past year.
- It has an NP205 transfer case with a rear facing PTO, I pulled it a couple years ago to reseal and twin sticked it.
- Rear axle is a Dana 70, 5.88 gears. I replaced the wheel bearings a couple years ago, and added a Detroit locker.
- Front axle is a Dana 60 closed knuckle. New wheel bearings as well, and added lock-out hubs.
- Tires are Michelin XL 11.00-16 (38.5") on stock rims with tubes, also have a complete spare.
- Has power steering.
- Manual brakes, but I do have a hydroboost unit that can be used to convert to power brakes. I added a dual circuit master cylinder and replaced the wheel cylinders
- with ones from a Ford van.
- Fuel tank is an RDS in-bed toolbox combo with an electric lift pump.
- It has a removeable canvas top which is in good shape, there's a window in the back of it and you can also roll the back part up.
- The body is in great shape, except the driver side outer rocker which is rotted (there was a mouse nest in there when I bought it, and I just never replaced it.)
- Have some spares including both driveshafts, a Braden MU-2 winch that came with it (I think they were used on old Dodges), and other odds and ends.
I really like the truck and don't need to get rid of it, but since I did the engine swap, I haven't done much with it other than drive it a few times a month.
It's not a very practical vehicle for me at the moment. I'm looking to trade it for either another Jeep with more than 2 seats. I'd like an even swap, but if the
vehicle is right, I'd consider a trade plus cash either way, possibly also consider a cash offer.
Price: $7500 or trade
