• Back in 1999 I was looking for a 4WD truck and found this truck in need of a engine rebuild yet complete.
• I had the block and heads boiled and magnefluxed then bored and replaced cam bearings.
• Crank is a regrind, installed with new main and rod bearings and new pistons and rings.
• I kept the 2BBL carb for efficiency but did install a power cam that gives it a nice oggadabogah idle.
• I replaced the old distributor with an Accel HEI unit and would recommend this swap to anyone!
• I kept the stock manifolds but installed dual exhaust with glass packs that helps the 360 to breathe
• Registration was renewed till 2001 when I put it in non operational status because I mostly used it on my ranch.
• It is a requirement for any California vehicle to avoid back registration fees to obtain non operational status.
• I did a full brake job including wheel cylinders and replaced brake shoes and springs but that was in 2007.
• I think the brakes could use an adjustment but are operational.
• The truck had been sitting for some time and I had to replace the water pump, fuel pump and rebuild the carburetor last month.
• The truck being a California vehicle is rust free except some surface rust in passenger floor board but not serious.
• The cab rear window had a boot connecting the factory camper shell and I replaced it with plexiglass.
• I installed a 8000 pound winch and a deep cycle battery that works very well.
• The odometer shows 56000 miles but I have no way to verify this as original.
• Tires are going to need replacement soon but have 30% tread left but some dry rot.
• Speedometer cable needs replaced and fuel gauge may need a sending unit.
• Lockout is vacuum actuated and needs a new vacuum switch.
• Some gauges in instrument panel need attention and may just be a fuse issue.
• The body is in overall good condition with original paint but has a dent in the bed on passenger side.
• This is your chance to get a smog exempt classic California vehicle.
• Truck has AC that is all there but needs a charge, Power steering, Power brakes, THM400/Borg Warner transfer case.
