1977 Jeep J-10 Truck

This is a very solid, nearly rust-free truck with straight body. It originated out west in a dry area. About 10 years ago it was modified and restored by a Jeep guru in Wisconsin. The essential mods were substitution of original engine with a Buick 430 CU big block engine from a Buick Electra convertible with 40,000 miles on it. Marvin Beardmoore from Dorchester, IA rebuilt the engine and there would be approximately 5000 miles on the rebuild. The transmission was rebuilt by Marvin Beardmoores nephew.Engine: 1967 – (7.0) 430 cubic-inch Wildcat V-8 w/ four-barrel carburator and 360 hp (268kw) rating that featured larger valves for better breathing than the previous 425 Wildcat nail head design. Engine featured 10.5:1 ratio compression, hydraulic lifters, giant four barrel carb, and was rated at a strong 360bhp. Much of the power came from a domed chamber design that greatly increased the efficiency of the engine. 430 V-8 360 bhp @ 4600 rpm, 475lb-ft 2 3200rpm.

Transmission and Dana 20 transfer case OEM Jeep (from ~1968 ¾ ton pickup; because this mates perfectly to Buick/Olds engine)

It has multiple upgrades including hydrostatic brake booster, rebushed and stiffened springs, rebuilt front drive and steering gear, with lockouts, gnarley old-school gladiator grill (original grillwork included), new-condition painted spare R. front fender.

Weak points are modest paint bubbling L. front fender, older interior upholstery, and expected poor fuel economy.

But it is a solid runner and drives comfy and straight as an arrow.

I have about $15K invested, but I have not driven it much in 2 years. It is time for a new home.
