1977 Jeep J10 4 inch lift, new tires Rare 401
I am selling my baby. Why you ask? So I can help build my new shop. I finally own a house where I can build and cannot wait any longer. I can buy another j10 down the road. I DO NOT NEED to sell this I would like to sell this.
I purchased this jeep in Montana and they use sand there. This thing is clean except for 2 spots. The right rear bed seam is has minimal rust however should get some attention soon. In addition there is a small 6 inch hole in the driver side floor. It is right in the middle and most average mechanics could fix this with minimal effort. This is a rare original 401 with some engine work. I was told it has a cam and a few other goodies however I cannot verify as I have never had it apart. I drive this jeep around town and she drives like a 39 year old truck.
A few years back I installed a 4inch spring lift all the way around. I also installed a drop pitman arm and installed fresh tires. They are E rated tires as I like to tow a trailer now and then. I also found a hitch that fit drilled the holes and it has a class 5 hitch. I added a custom rear bumper that I welded up myself. When I painted this truck several years back I installed a brand new windshield and rear slider that is tinted. The interior is several colors as over the years I kept finding better stuff. I added a factory tilt steering wheel and installed that so its black and some interior is brown. This fresh paint is an OEM brown that came from the factory because life is easier than painting every nook and crack.
I have removed the electronics and installed a one wire GM 12v alternator with internal voltage regulator. I eliminated points by installing a new DUI distributor plug wires need to be done as well. I rhino spray in bed liner was installed and I found an original aluminum cap that I love because it weighs like 50lbs and is so simple to remove with the help of the old lady.
Unfortunately there are several small leaks under hat thing that I have never worried about because I would like to swap in an LS motor and GM transmission. The rear pinion leaks as well I did the seal however it could be more because it still leaks. Please ask questions I want this to go to another jeep lover like myself. I have some rubber brake lines that I purchased that are braided stainless steel and will go with it.
Be aware the tailgate is very dented I just had them paint it as is and I have been in search of a nice one. I have several tailgates that can be sold with this one but they are rough. A new buyer can discuss that. I also have large truck mirrors that it came with for those that are in search of that oem look.
