1974 Jeep J20 Pioneer Townside 401 Z Code

This Jeep J20 Pioneer 401 Townside was built in September 1973, making it one of the earliest produced J20s. This survivor spent most of its life in central Oregon until it was brought east about 5 years ago, and it has about a thousand miles on it since then, going to shows and the lumber yard. Clean title. Great patina! Surface rust only, no rust holes and no bondo! There are some small dings and dents on this original body and paint after 48 years, but overall, it is in great shape! Runs, drives and stops as it should. Has just under 105,000 miles.

Mechanically it has an AMC 401 cid, (6.6 liter) Z Code engine with an Edelbrock 4 bbl carb, TH400 3spd Automatic transmission, Quadratrac full time transfer case with low range, HD Dana 44 front and Dana 60 rear. It has dual gas tanks, 8,000 gvw, 131" wheelbase, 8' bed, GemTop GT 700 cap and 285/70 R17 Hankook Dynapro ATM tires.

This J20 had the top-of-the-line Pioneer package, including a chrome three piece front bumper, original steel rear bumper, a/c, trailer hitch wired with brake controller, two-tone paint, woodgrain accents inside and out, locking glovebox, deluxe door trim, courtesy lights, dual horns and cargo box light.

Gas gauge does not work, some of the buttons on dash can pop off, push button start, seat is in decent condition but has a couple small holes and stains, per pics. Has a new MSD coil, new points, new aluminum radiator, fresh oil, various new hoses and other small items installed. Rear main seal replaced approx. 500 miles ago. Rear window for cap is not installed. One of the window shocks went bad, causing the hinge to begin to fail. Replacement hinge for rear window is included. The cap side windows slide as they should. There is as an unused touch-up paint kit included. Comes with seat cover and floormats.
