29,300 verified true miles. This jeep also has a verified and proven service record on 9/11/01. I have spoken and corresponded with the two gentlemen who loaded this Jeep up on that fateful day with soft goods including cots bandages and other medical supplies. They then drove this jeep to New York. One of those gentlemen even stopped by to look at the jeep and walked around and explained to me why the extra holes were in the box from the air tank apparatuses that they built and how the dent on the lower fender came from a rescue during a brush fire. The gentleman also left a fire service arm patch from Hopatcong fire company to leave in the trucks glove box.
The Jeep has the 360 V8, 727A trans, 4x4. 3 weeks ago the Jeep sadly broke the band for reverse so now it only has forward gears (pretty common issue on the 727). UPDATE: had reverse band issues but have since been sorted. All mechanicals appears to be original. The jeep does have forward gears and starts immediately every time.
This Jeep was featured in Fire Jeep magazine in 1995 (photos to prove it)
The Jeep will need floor boards however the trans tunnel is solid. Very great efforts have been made to "preserve" and not restore this piece of Jeep and American history. Many many hours spent finding the missing parts taken of her over the years and make her beautiful once again.
Price: $14,000
