1977 Cherokee Chief
2 Door Wide Track S-Custom, Quadra Trac - VIN# J7A17MMP025016. 360 V-8 with a 400 Turbo transmission.
This Chief is a good example of a "stock" Cherokee Chief. There are no major body or suspension modifications. It has the original windshield and I had 2 chips professionally repaired. Someone prior to me replaced the front floor pans, the body mounts, and the motor was professionally rebuilt.
I replaced the following:
-Fuel Tank (original will go with the buyer)
-Fuel Pump
-Flex Plate, Torque Converter and Starter
-New Oil Pan, Valve Cover, Intake and Timing Chain Gaskets, Front and Rear Main Seals
-New Upper and Lower Ball Joints
-Tires are in almost new condition though probably not the size most will prefer.
-New driver and passenger side window gaskets
Transmission and transfer case all work great with manual locking hubs and has the low lever by the driver seat.
The output shaft seal leaks some. The vacuum lines for the Quadra Trac are inoperable but the selector is there. Aftermarket gauges,
factory A/C that works (needs charged). Heater and fan work fine and I replaced the selector cable.
The only negatives I can point to are the rear quarter panel fender flares. The driver side is the worst and
will need replaced or repaired. It looks like the front ones have been replaced. The frame is solid with usual surface rust.
